WonHundred Word Wednesday: He hadn’t seen anything like it in twenty years of teaching.

Today’s 100 word story goes with the prompt: He hadn’t seen anything like it in twenty years of teaching.

WonHundred Wednesday 6_11

He paused in the open doorway of his classroom. He hadn’t seen anything like it in twenty years of teaching. There, in the center of the room, were all the desk and chairs.

All stacked together in a large, inverse pyramid.

He tried to see how the single chair on the bottom was supporting the expanse above it, but he didn’t want to get too close.

The room hummed with the alien energy. He was relieved he cleared everyone out in time. So his class—his kids—wouldn’t be anywhere near whatever was in those ships that had appeared above.
