It is that time of the week again. A bunch of authors take the same prompt and writ a 100 word story about it. The prompt for this week is: “It was time. She’d fought against it for so long.”

It was time. She’d fought against it for so long. But fifty years of arguments, fights, underhanded stunts, and trickery had worn her down.
She was almost eighty years old. She couldn’t keep up the battle.
She pulled the paper toward her and glared at the person across from her. “Fine. I’ll sign it.” Her hand shook as she scrawled her signature across the bottom line. “I hope you’re finally happy, Mildred. The souvenir tea spoons are yours.”
The other woman cackled with maniacal glee. “Finally mine! Don’t try to hide any.”
“I won’t. I hope you choke on them.

Sounds like a miserable friend, but I love the last line.

Spoon! It must be an impressive collection of spoons, and yes, not a very good friend.
