WonHundred Word Wednesday: “The urge to interrupt him before he had finished was overwhelming”

Our prompt for this week is: “The urge to interrupt him before he had finished was overwhelming.” From that we write a 100 word story. 

            The peddler droned on. The urge to interrupt him before he had finished was overwhelming.

            “I don’t need a vacuum cleaner. Nor do I need a whole set of Encyclopedias.”

            He narrowed his eyes and looked deep into mine. “Of course, an enterprising young man such as yourself has no need for such mundane items.” He rummaged in his large sack. “However, I have just what you need.”

            “I seriously doubt that.” But I was fixated on that pack. What could he mean?

            With a sly grin, he pulled out of his bag the exact spellbook I had been seeking.
