I am slow on last week’s 100 word story. So, here is the prompt and my take on it!
“She decided to go to her father’s grave, to ask his advice…”
Melinda settled down in the grass and leaned her back against the cool granite of the tombstone. She had decided to go to her father’s grave, to ask his advice. She pulled the cigar, his favorite brand, out of her jacket and heaved a sigh.
“Daddy, I know you are super busy. But, I could really use your help.” The silence seemed to mock her. “I don’t know what to do next with my current case.”
The distinct scent of cigar smoke drifted past on the breeze, accompanied by a whisper. “Check the box in the victim’s closet.”
Melinda grinned.

I really liked this. The dad there to help out his daughter and give her a leg up on the case. So cool. I want more of this. I want to know what she finds in the victims closet.
