Each week we (a group of authors) take the same prompt and then each write a 100 word story about it. This week’s prompt is: “She had found something that would mean she’d never be poor again, but there was a catch…”
I believe I was in an odd mood while writing this one, you be the judge 🙂 .
Cathy had found something that would mean she’d never be poor again – but there was a catch, she could never eat chocolate again. Oh, and she was slowly being driven insane.
When the cheap, hollow chocolate Easter bunny—with the googly, sugar eyes—first spoke to her, it was hard to believe. It begged her not to bite its ears off in exchange for treasures.
It seemed like an easy promise: no chocolate, no poverty.
But then, the bunny wouldn’t stop talking. The sound followed her everywhere. And Cathy wondered just how sweet those waxy chocolate ears would taste.

this was a fun one!

This was fun to read. It was a very creative take on the prompt.

Silly rabbit, chocolate is for eating. I’d bite the ears for sure.
