This week’s prompt for our 100 word story is: “Most vivid amongst the memories of his home town.” Here is my take and then you can read what the other authors did with this same prompt!
Most vivid amongst the memories of his home town was that of the giant oak tree. And the dead body that hung from it.
John was seven before he realized that no one else could see the man hanging from the branch, twisting gently in the nonexistent breeze.
There were others as well.
When his momma sang with the church choir, her voice carrying the gospel music to the rafters, others would join in. They stood with their hats in their hands, or dresses freshly starched, swaying and belting out the songs.
But no one else could hear them.

6th sense right there. I’d love to see this fleshed out more and find the adventures the boy experiences with his gift of seeing ghosts. Love it.
