WonHundred Word Wednesday: “He hadn’t meant to scare the child.”

Welcome to WonHundred Word Wednesday. Where a group of authors take a prompt and create a 100 word story. This week’s prompt is: “He hadn’t meant to scare the child.” After looking at my take, I believe I need more sleep. 🙂

 

 

                He hadn’t meant to scare the child. But to be honest, the child had done a great job of scaring him too. It wasn’t like he was trained to do this.

                “Come work at the circus,” they said. “Lots of fun,” they said.

                What was fun about crawling through shrubbery looking for a lost monkey riding a boa constrictor?

                He had just caught the runaways and was backing out of the bushes when he bumped into the kid.

                There were screams from him and the child.

                A terrified monkey and panicked snake.

                Broken rib and scratches.

                 “Sure, lots of fun.”
